Tohoku region is located at North East Japan and it consist of 6 prefectures, Aomori, Akita, Fukushima, Iwate, Miyagi and Yamagata. Tohoku is a historically significant region in Japan's history and it has been preserved and kept authentic. It is a true gem where you can find and feel the true origin of Japan.

Akita prefecture is rich in nature and is also home to the first ever world heritage in Japan, the Shirakami Mountains. It is also home to the cute balls of fur, Akita dog.

Aomori is the northernmost prefecture in Tohoku region. It is one of the snowiest areas in Japan. Aomori is also famous for their high quality seafood at the market in Hachinohe city.

Iwate is the 2nd largest prefecture in Japan with almost 77% of the area being forest! You can find majestic gorges, and cliffs with ethereal beauty of nature.

Fukushima prefecture has a strong historical importance as it was developed as a gateway to the Tohoku region during ancient times. Historical buildings and area such as Ouchijuku has been preserved.

Miyagi is a blend of urban culture and nature. Being near the water, diverse kinds of seafoods are also available. One of Japan's three great sights, Matsushima, is located here.

Yamagata prefecture is known for its cherries. It is also home to one of Japan's top three fastest-flowing river, Mogami River. The Zao Mountain Range, located near the prefectureal border and crossing over to Miyagi, is also home to one of nature's phenomenon, Snow Monsters.

In Japan, with Tokyo as the center, we cover Kanto (7 prefectures: Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Tokyo, Chiba, and Kanagawa), Koshinetsu (3 prefectures: Niigata, Nagano, Yamanashi), and Tohoku regions (6 prefectures: Akita, Aomori, Iwate, Fukushima, Miyagi, Yamagata). With a total of 69 routes, the whole traveling distance is more than 7,400km. It is the largest railway company in Japan with around 17,700,000 passengers per day.
